Low Incidence Programs
This newsletter is intended for families who have students attending Low incidence Programs at Marple Education Center only.

Information for Students RETURNING TO SCHOOL on Monday, September 21st

We are excited to start welcoming students back into the building. Here are some helpful reminders:

  • Starting on Monday, we will return to our normal operating hours of 8:30 am until 2:40 pm for students.

  • If you are dropping off your child, please drop them off at Door B, which is next to the low incidence playground.

  • For students being transported by bus or van, you need to contact your school district's transportation department if you have questions or concerns. We do not have information regarding bus assignments, pick-up/drop-off times.

  • Students should only bring essential items that they need for the school day.

  • Masks are to be worn by staff and students throughout the day. We do recognize that some students may struggle with wearing masks and will work with those students on mask wearing.

  • Prior to sending your child to school, please remember to screen your child for COVID-related symptons.
  • Take your child's temperature.
  • If you child has a temperature of 99.5 or above or is experiencing the symptoms listed below, do not send your child to school.
Information for Students REMAINING VIRTUAL starting Monday, September 21st

For those families who have chosen to not return their children for in-person instruction, here is some information to assist you during your child's virtual learning experience:

  • Your child's teacher should have communicated your child's virtual learning schedule, which starts tomorrow, September 21st. If you have not connected with your child's teacher, please reach out to them.

  • In order to meet attendance requirements, your child is expected to participate in the virtual learning activities and sessions developed by his/her teacher.

  • Your child's school district has been contacted in regards to your child continuing with virtual instruction. Virtual learning plans have been created and will be sent to districts this week. School districts may request your participation in a IEP meeting to review your child's virtual learning plan and make IEP revisions when necessary.

  • If you have questions or concerns regarding your child's virtual learning schedule or experience, please contact your child's assigned teacher. Please know that your child's teacher will also be instructing other students throughout the day both in-person and virtually. They may not be able to respond to you immediately, but will do so at their earliest convenience.

  • When you are ready to return your child for in-person instruction at Marple Education Center, we ask that you PROVIDE 2 WEEKS NOTICE PRIOR TO THE DATE YOUR STUDENT WILL BE RETURNING. In order to best prepare for your child's return, we need time ensure proper classroom placement, set-up transportation and ensure we have staff hired to meet your child's individual needs.
