The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges’ (NCJFCJ) 83rd Annual Conference will be held virtually on July 19-22, 2020. More information about this year’s conference is available on the

The Children’s Commission will offer a limited number of scholarships for qualifying Texas judges to attend the virtual conference. This year’s conference will feature plenary sessions on family law, juvenile justice, child welfare, and family violence, as well as breakout sessions featuring practical and innovative solutions on these same topics.
To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must hear civil child welfare cases. Additionally, all applicants must agree to participate in the virtual training by attending the live sessions and/or the archived sessions no later than August 28, 2020 and complete a post-event survey from the Children’s Commission.
Preference is given to judges who have larger percentages of their docket dedicated to child welfare cases.
The deadline to apply for the scholarship is noon on Tuesday, July 7, 2020.
Early applications are strongly encouraged due to the limited number of applications and this year’s brief application period. Please note that applications cannot be submitted on Friday, July 3, 2020 due to scheduled maintenance on the Survey Monkey website. In order to be considered, applications must be submitted by the deadline stated above.
This scholarship takes the form of waived registration fees. The Children’s Commission will work with NCJFCJ to register awardees directly. If you are selected to receive a scholarship, the Children’s Commission will notify you by Wednesday, July 8, 2020.
