Responding to the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children: Practical Tools and Takeaways for Judges
The Children’s Commission will host a free webcast on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. entitled, “Responding to the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children: Practical Tools and Takeaways for Judges.” A judicially-led panel will provide information related to serving children who experience the child welfare and juvenile justice systems and are at risk of commercial sexual exploitation.

Using a sample case scenario, judges will learn how to identify potential warning signs of commercial sexual exploitation, how to address the impact of detention, what resources and services aim to prevent exploitation and support survivors of exploitation, and how judges can engage with children who experience or are at risk of exploitation. This webinar is open to judges only and will not be recorded in order to facilitate conversation among judges.
