Save the Date for Upcoming "Day with the Department" Judicial Conference
The Children’s Commission will partner with the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to host a judicial conference in a virtual format on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST. This event will complement this year’s abbreviated Child Welfare Judges Conference and offers an opportunity for judges to interact with DFPS outside of the courtroom environment. The conference will include a presentation by DFPS leadership, a statewide data presentation, and breakout sessions with DFPS Regional Directors. Please plan to participate virtually for the full day and note that this will be a live presentation. The conference will offer Continuing Judicial Education (CJE) credits. Please look for additional announcements regarding the conference agenda.

Reminder to Register for 2020 Child Welfare Judges Conference
In partnership with the Texas Center for the Judiciary (TCJ), the Children’s Commission will host the 13th Annual Child Welfare Judges Conference virtually on Tuesday, October 27, 2020. The conference will start at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 5:30 p.m. CST. Registration is limited to judges who hear child welfare cases. Six hours of CJE credits and six hours of Family Violence credits can be obtained by attending the 2020 Child Welfare Judges Conference. There is no registration fee.   

Interested judges can register on the TCJ’s website. Please note that users will need to sign in to register.
