Announcing Attorney Scholarships for Webcast Replays of TexasBarCLE's
Child Abuse and Neglect Workshop
The 2020 TexasBarCLE Advanced Family Law Course's Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) one-day Workshop will premiere virtually on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 as a live webcast. This year, the Children’s Commission is offering registration scholarships to qualified attorneys for the webcast replays of the one-day CLE, which are currently scheduled on October 2 and October 23, 2020. For more information on this year’s agenda, please see the CAN Workshop Brochure .

The $125 registration scholarship for webcast replays is limited to 75 qualifying attorneys who are viewing replays of the one-day CAN Workshop, which is part of the full 2020 Advanced Family Law Course. This scholarship takes the form of a waived registration fee for the webcast replay of the CAN Workshop only. Applicants should note that the Children’s Commission is not able to reimburse attorneys who pay the State Bar of Texas directly for the Advanced Family Law Course or for the CAN Workshop.

The registration fee for this event is waived for Texas judges by TexasBarCLE. Judges wishing to attend the 2020 Child Abuse and Neglect Workshop should contact TexasBarCLE directly.

Attorney applicants must currently represent DFPS or take appointments on a CPS docket, be in good standing with the State Bar of Texas and with their primary judge, and commit to completing a post-event survey from the Children’s Commission. Judges with applicants from their jurisdiction will be notified by the Children’s Commission and asked to confirm that the applicant currently represents DFPS or takes appointments on their CPS docket.

All applicants must also agree to view the webcast replay on the scheduled date or to complete the replay viewing within one month from the date of the event. For example, if awarded a scholarship for the October 2, 2020 webcast replay, the awardee agrees to view the live webcast on October 2 or complete the replay within a month of the live webcast, which is no later than November 2, 2020.

Attorneys may apply for a registration scholarship by completing the 2020 Child Abuse and Neglect Workshop Scholarship Application . 

Please note, this scholarship application will close at midnight on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.
