Reminder: Children's Commission Webcast
87th Legislative Session Update on CPS-Related Matters
The Children's Commission is hosting a free, two-hour webcast entitled “87th Legislative Session Update on CPS-Related Matters” tomorrow, Thursday, July 22, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Children's Commission Executive Director Jamie Bernstein, Legal Representation Director Dylan Moench, and Staff Attorney Aimee Corbin will provide an update on bills passed during the 87th Legislative Session. House and Senate bills related to child welfare law will be examined, including the subject of each bill, the statutes affected, and the effective date. The information will explain changes in the law so that judges, attorneys, and guardians ad litem can incorporate them into their practice as soon as bills become effective. Information regarding MCLE is pending.

Registration for the live webcast is limited to the first 500 participants. Additional participants will be directed to the Children's Commission’s YouTube livestream of the webinar. Please note that the registrants who view the webcast on YouTube will not have the ability to submit live questions to the presenters. The archived video, PowerPoint presentation, and written legislative update will be distributed within a few weeks of the live webcast and made available on the Children's Commission’s website. Please look for an announcement with this information.
