Resource Letter:
For Judges and Attorneys Handling Child Protective Services Cases
November 16, 2021
Interactive Trial Skills Training Application Deadline Extended to Friday, December 3, 2021
The Children’s Commission’s Trial Skills Training application deadline is extended to midnight on Friday, December 3, 2021. This will be the final opportunity for attorneys to submit an application for the Spring 2022 interactive training.

Designed for less experienced attorneys handling child welfare cases who want to improve their litigation skills, the training will be taught over Zoom on March 30, 2022 and April 6 and 7, 2022.

Recent participants have said the following about their Trial Skills Training experiences:

The Trial Skills Training has already proven to be extremely helpful in my practice. I already began my first jury trial and have incorporated much of my training from voir dire and preparing for my opening statement as well as direct and cross examination.”

“Everything I learned in trial skills will be applicable for me. While I may not attend jury trials often, I can apply what I have learned toward bench trials. I think the experience has taught me so much about examining witnesses and organizing myself to present my case.”

The application is available at the following: Trial Skills Training Application: Spring 2022.
