The 2022 Tool Kit reflects changes made by the 87th Texas Legislative Session and includes new chapters on alternatives to removal, court ordered services/motions to participate, the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA), interventions, and the reinstatement of parental rights. It also covers essential legal basics at a glance, including pleadings, jurisdiction, service of citation and notice, evidentiary issues, hearing checklists, common abbreviations and acronyms, and related federal law issues. The 2022 Tool Kit also contains topical chapters on concurrent and special issues related to child welfare cases including reasonable efforts, placement, and older youth in foster care.
