Child Protective Services created a webinar series dedicated to exploring issues related to racial and ethnic disparities in the child welfare system. On June 17, 2020, from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. CST, the webinar topic will be “Domestic Violence and Race Equity: TWAIS.” The Texas Working At The Intersections for Safe Families (TWAIS) cohort was launched on Native Tamayame land in New Mexico in 2019 with the support of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, Ujima (The National Center on Violence Against Women in the Black Community), Futures Without Violence, and The Resource Center on Domestic Violence. TWAIS is one of three cohorts and stands in partnership with cohorts from Minnesota and Michigan. TWAIS aims to be a leader in re-imagining the child welfare system and domestic violence system response to keeping families safe through a race equity lens. This multi-disciplinary panel will include judicial, legal, and advocate perspectives.
Note: CLEs and CEUs are not offered for this webinar.
