2019 Child Protection Update: 86th Legislative Session
The Children's Commission's 2019 Child Protection Update: 86th Legislative Session report is now available online. The Update lists the legislative changes by bill number and by statute and includes changes to the Texas Family Code such as identifying and supporting family placements, and preparing for implementation of the federal Family First Prevention Services Act.
Archived webcast and related program materials
A recording from the July 23, 2019 live webcast, “ 86th Legislative Session Update on CPS-Related Matters ” is now available on the Children's Commission website. Staff Attorney Dylan Moench provided the update on each bill passed during the 86th Session, the statutes affected, and the effective date.

One hour of MCLE has been approved from the State Bar of Texas. The PowerPoint presentation notes along with follow-up to viewer questions submitted during the live webcast are available on the Children's Commission's website .
