Announcing Upcoming Live MCLE on CPS-Related Issues
Save the Date: September 11, 2018
In partnership with the State Bar of Texas, the Children’s Commission will present a series of live webcasts on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 on basic and advanced topics and skills to help improve your practice in CPS cases. The total MCLE will be six hours. The expected broadcast time will be from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm CT, with a mid-day break and short breaks in between some of the MCLEs.
Topics are based on feedback received by the Commission in response to requests for additional training, and will include the following:

Morning Webcasts:
  • Concurrent Criminal and Civil CPS Cases (60 minutes)
  • Social Media Authentication (45 minutes)
  • Drug Testing in CPS Cases (45 minutes)
  • Medical Experts and Medical Issues in CPS Cases (60 minutes)

Afternoon Webcasts:
  • Sealing Records in Juvenile Cases (30 minutes)
  • Youth Presence in Court (60 minutes)
  • Postsecondary Opportunities for Older Youth (60 minutes)
