Upcoming Webinar on July 18th: Kinship Care and Race Equity in Child Welfare
Child Protective Services has launched a webinar series dedicated to exploring issues related to racial and ethnic disparities in the child welfare system. On July 18, 2018, from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., the webinar topic will be “Kinship Care and Race Equity in Child Welfare.” It will feature a moderated panel of DFPS staff who will discuss issues related to kinship policies, practices and placements that can have an impact on racial disproportionality and disparities. Previous webcasts from this series which are available online include Latinos and Race Equity; Kids Count; Texas Appleseed’s School to Prison Pipeline; and White in America.

Please Note: Our original communication on the DFPS “3 in 30” program sent on June 13, 2018 omitted one of the roll-out dates, specifically the date of implementation of the “3 in 30” program in Region 2.
