87th Regular Legislative Session September 1st Effective Dates
Many new laws passed during the 87th Regular Legislative Session become effective today, September 1, 2021. For a review of legislative changes by bill number and by statute as well as the effective date of each new law, judges, attorneys, and stakeholders can access the Children's Commission's 87th Texas Regular Legislative Session Report. Additionally, a recording of the July 22, 2021 “87th Legislative Session Update on CPS-Related Matters” webcast and its accompanying PowerPoint Presentation are available on the Children's Commission’s On Demand MCLE webpage. The State Bar of Texas approved 2.0 hours of MCLE for the webcast, including 0.25 hours of ethics; self-reporting information is available on the Children’s Commission website.
