2021 Texas ICWA Summit Replay and Materials Now Available
The Children’s Commission is pleased to announce that the session replays and materials from the virtual January 2021 Texas Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Summit are now available on the Commission’s website. The Summit was designed and hosted by the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas, Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas, and Ysleta del Sur Pueblo, in partnership with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and the Children’s Commission. The one-day summit provided the judicial and legal communities, caseworkers, and other child welfare stakeholders with an in-depth training on the history of ICWA, critical legal components of ICWA, related case law updates, and the impact of ICWA for tribal communities. MCLE information is also available on the Children’s Commission website.
