November 20, 2025

2025 Texas Child Welfare Law Bench Book Now Available

The 2025 edition of the Texas Child Welfare Law Bench Book (Bench Book) is now available online. The 2025 edition features updates from the 89th Texas Regular Legislative Session throughout and includes a new bench card on court admonishments.

While the Bench Book was originally designed for and is primarily used by judges, attorneys and other child welfare stakeholders may find the information helpful. A desktop version of the Bench Book is available on the Children’s Commission website as well as a downloadable PDF for print. The Bench Book is also available through the online service LawBox, a mobile application accessed on portable devices.

If you are a Texas judge responsible for handling child welfare cases and you are interested in receiving a printed copy of the Texas Child Welfare Law Bench Book, please send your request to children@txcourts.gov. Please note, limited printed copies are available.
