Representing Incarcerated Clients in Child Welfare Cases

The Children’s Commission will host a webinar on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. entitled “Representing Incarcerated Parents in Child Welfare Cases.”


Tara Grigg Green, Executive Director at the Foster Care Advocacy Center, and Matilda, Parent Partner at the Foster Care Advocacy Center, will discuss legal considerations for attorneys representing incarcerated parents in child welfare cases. Topics to be covered will include statutory duties, communicating with and visiting incarcerated clients, service planning, mediation, and trial preparation. Practice tips related to advocating for incarcerated parents throughout a child welfare case will also be provided.


MCLE credit and TBLS credit are pending. This presentation will be archived, and materials will be available on the Children’s Commission website following the live webinar.
