Trial Skills for Child Welfare Cases: Jury Trial Basics

Please join the Children's Commission on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. for a webinar entitled “Trial Skills for Child Welfare Cases: Jury Trial Basics.”


Children's Commission Trial Skills Training faculty members, Hon. Gary Coley (ret.), Of Counsel at Cherry Johnson Siegmund and James, and Jack Sigman, Attorney at Castagna & Scott, PLLC, will provide practice tips on how to prepare for a jury trial in a child welfare case. The session will focus on pretrial motions and requests for rulings, considerations for voir dire, and how to present opening and closing statements to a jury. MCLE credit is pending. This presentation will be archived, and materials will be available on the Children’s Commission website following the live webinar.
