The Child Protective Investigations Advisory Committee was created to strengthen the accuracy, consistency, and fairness of DFPS investigations into allegations of child abuse, neglect, and exploitation. The committee is charged with advising DFPS on developing and standardizing investigative policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with due process requirements, enhancing engagement models with legal advocates and judiciary, improving training for investigative personnel, and establishing data-informed models for conducting investigations.
The Committee developed a survey to gain insight and data about existing strengths and areas in need of improvement. There are separate survey links for attorneys and judges. Please share with any attorneys or judges who practice child welfare law or preside over child welfare cases in your jurisdiction.
