Children's Commission Webcast:

Texas 89th Regular Legislative Session Update

Please join the Children's Commission on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. for a webcast entitled “89th Regular Legislative Session Update.” Children's Commission Staff Attorney Brenda Kinsler will provide an update on House and Senate bills related to child welfare law, the statutes affected, and the effective date. MCLE credit is pending. This presentation will be archived, and materials will be available on the Children’s Commission website following the live webcast. The live webcast is limited to 500 participants; early registration is encouraged.

Supporting Reunification in Child Welfare Cases

A recording of the June 24, 2025 webinar entitled “Supporting Reunification in Child Welfare Cases” is now available on the Children’s Commission’s On-Demand Training and MCLE webpage. A panel that included Judge Andrea James, Parent Liaison Jessica Bills, and Attorney Jennifer Perkins provided insights into barriers and strengths as children and families navigate the complexities of the child welfare system and work towards successful reunification.

 

The State Bar of Texas approved 1.0 hours of MCLE for the webinar, and the Texas Board of Legal Specialization approved 1.0 hours for certification and recertification in the specialty field of Child Welfare Law.
