Proposed Rule on the Use of Restraints in Juvenile Court

On November 30, 2022, the Supreme Court of Texas invited public comment on several rules, including the proposed Rule of Judicial Administration 17 related to the use of restraints in juvenile court, pursuant to Texas Government Code § 22.0135(b). Public comment should be submitted in writing to [email protected] by May 1, 2023.


The Court will issue an order finalizing the proposed rules after the close of the comment period. The Court may change the rules in response to public comments. The Court expects the rules to take effect on June 1, 2023.
