November is National Adoption Month. Celebrating this month is one way to increase and spread awareness of adoption-related issues for children, youth, and young adults experiencing foster care. Regardless of age, all children deserve to be supported in a safe, loving, and permanent home. When a child cannot safely return to their parents, adoption is one way to provide positive permanency and stability.


Adoption Day and Adoption Month are not the only opportunities to celebrate. Courts are encouraged to take time each month to celebrate and highlight the importance of adoptions and to finalize permanency for children. Courts can utilize these Tips for Planning Your National Adoption Day Event in November and all year long.
