Texas Legal Services Center Family Help Link

The Texas Legal Services Center (TLSC) developed a new statewide resource. For more information, please see the announcement and links below.

###

The Texas Legal Services Center recently launched the Family Help Link, an online referral portal designed to connect Texas families with legal aid organizations specializing in child welfare issues. The Family Help Link was developed in collaboration with Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Texas Advocacy Project, Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, and Disability Rights Texas.

Common legal issues families can find help with include:

  • Protection from child abuse
  • Foster youth rights
  • Special education and school access issues
  • Obtaining government benefits
  • Juvenile record sealing, driver's license restoration, and name changes
  • Kinship caregiver support
  • CPS involvement

Families seeking legal assistance can complete one online application through the Family Help Link, which will provide a recommendation for services based on the legal issues presented, the family's location, and other factors. Applicants will also be immediately connected to free self-help resources while they wait for a response from matched partner organizations.

A flyer announcing the Family Help Link featuring a QR code is available here.
