Important Updates & Training Opportunities

FIRST AID/CPR CLASSES

As of June 30, 2022 Online CPR training expired. Effective

July 1, 2022  CPR training requires the in-person component. 

Care Connections & Education has several option available.

Hybrid option:


The hybrid option allows you to take an online portion of the First Aid/CPR training then you will attend a compression check with an instructor in person. Upon registration you will be provided a link for the online course, which will need to be completed prior to the in-person portion of the class. When you complete the course you will attend the in-person portion to complete the training. Cost for Hybrid First Aid/CPR $50 (Space is limited)

In Person First Aid/CPR Option:

Douglas County: 

Care Connections & Education is partnering with Umpqua Community College CWT's First Aid/CPR class and coordinating registration for providers. This AHA Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED course teaches how to manage illness and injuries for children and Infants in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. This class also teaches CPR, AED use, relief of choking and use of barrier devices for all ages. Please bring a sack lunch

Cost is $89

If you are Registered Family Licensed Provider, Center Director (provider on the license) Aide I or Licensed Exempt Provider you may qualify for reimbursement from TRI. Please contact us for more information and forms for reimbursement. 

Douglas County

Fingerprinting update:


Currently there is not a field print office in Douglas County. Providers needing fingerprinting rolled are to contact licensing for the fingerprint card and instruction packet. The instructions advise you to check with your local law enforcement or a business that does fingerprinting to have your fingerprint card completed. Providers will be responsible to pay for the fees for rolling the prints. 

Licensing recommends when sending in your application to include a note with the paper application that you want a fingerprint card packet. If applying online call  licensing the next day to request the fingerprint packet.

July In-Person Training Opportunities

In Person Set two training with Dr. Sally Guyon

Partnering with Parents to Support Emotional Development

This training is focused on creating parent education that teach parents to understand the social/emotional development of toddlers and how to support toddlers using positive guidance, specifically in the areas of biting and tantrums. This professional development session was created from the research and experiences of working with parents in an ECE classroom as children expressed themselves through biting.

Set Two/ CKC : FCS 2.5 & UGB 2.5

Cost $20 ( includes a children's book)
