From Jennifer Jarvis, Interim Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management:

The Spring 2022 semester begins on January 28, 2022. I am looking forward to seeing many more students on campus as our reopening continues with 80 percent of classes being offered in in-person or hybrid formats during the spring semester.

Please be reminded that CUNY has mandated that all students taking in-person or hybrid courses are required to be vaccinated or have an approved medical exception or religious exemption. If you have not yet been vaccinated, we urge you to do so at this time. Go to www.cuny.edu/coronavirus/ for information on how to access the vaccine.

Vaccine verification must be uploaded to CUNYfirst by January 18, 2022.

Other important dates:

December 24, 2021: Deadline for first dose of Pfizer vaccine
January 14, 2022: Deadline for single dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine

CUNY has stated that unvaccinated students taking in-person or hybrid courses will be withdrawn before classes begin if they do not meet the below guidelines and deadlines:

  • If your vaccination documents are already approved in CUNYfirst, you do not need to re-submit them.
  • If you are fully vaccinated but have not uploaded proof in CUNYfirst because all your classes are currently remote, don’t wait! Do it today and you’ll be ready to visit campus or take an in-person class.
  • All students (except those with approved exemptions or exceptions) must be fully vaccinated in order to enter any CUNY facility.
  • Medical exceptions and religious exemptions must be submitted 30 days before the start of classes (by December 28, 2021).
  • Students will be able to enroll for in-person/hybrid classes without providing proof of vaccination at the time of enrollment—but will need to be fully vaccinated and their documents approved before the beginning of classes.

Please be reminded that masks must be worn when in shared indoor spaces on the Queens College campus. For more information on Queens College coronavirus guidance and campus access, please visit www.qc.cuny.edu/coronavirus.

Stay safe and well. I look forward to seeing you in Spring 2022.
