Hi Sunrise Families

Thank you for your patience during this difficult time of transition. We sure do miss all of the students! Continue to reach out for support as needed. We will be in touch through our voice school messaging system with next steps in the next couple of weeks as to how and when you can pick up student supplies. Until then enjoy the nice weather and family time.

Student report cards have been posted in Skyward. To view your child's academic progress, please log in to the Skyward Portal located on the District website. Please email Mrs. Luitze if you need your credentials.

ENROLLMENT:

Parents of children who will be 4 years old by or before September 1, 2020:

Marinette School District has two 4K programs: full-day and half-day. All are welcome, however due to limited space in the full-day program, and to be fair, a lottery will take place to select the students who will be offered the 4K full-day program. The deadline to participate in the lottery is May 13 at 3:00 p.m.- this means if you want to participate in the lottery for full-day 4K you must have your child’s enrollment completed by that time. Why wait? Enroll today. Please note: The lottery does not affect 1/2 day 4K. Enrollment is ongoing.

Other information needed is: immunization records, physical exam and proof of residency

BOUNDARY VARIANCES:

Marinette School District assign all students to their home schools based on the established elementary school boundaries to ensure student enrollment balance within the elementary schools.

By July 30, a parent can apply for a district exception online, which is reviewed by the District Administrators for approval. If the family receives approval, it is the district’s expectation that the student will be parent transported to/from school in a timely manner or the district exception will be reversed. Families will be notified by the first Friday in August.

Should a family move during an existing school year to another home outside of the existing school’s attendance area, it may be in the best interest of the student to finish the current school year at the original school and that will be granted.

Potential Reasons for Approval:

Medical conditions of student.
Extenuating family situation.
Family moved from current home in district to a new home causing a change in elementary boundary area.

Marinette School District reserves the right to request further documentation if needed to make a final decision. All decisions are made by the District Administrator and are final. Once a variance is accepted, you do not need to fill one out every year.
