Important Learning System Transition

Workday LEARNING – Coming This Spring



Coworkers,


Learning systems play a key role in helping our organization to meet regulatory compliance and complete essential education. They also support our journey toward continuous improvement and help us to provide a safe environment, high-quality outcomes for patients, and development for coworkers.


We’ve previously shared that Franciscan will be transitioning to a new learning platform. Many Franciscan team members continue working hard to prepare for this transition, and now we’re excited to share a look at what’s ahead this spring.



What’s changing?

  • Learning system transition from Learning Compass to Workday Learning, a tool/app within our Workday platform.



Why the change?

  • Improved user interface and navigation experience.
  • Paves way to maximize the benefits of learning and talent management tools offered in Workday.
  • Simplification & Stewardship. Retiring Learning Compass eliminates a system to manage and aligns with Franciscan’s “Workday-first” strategy.

Easy to use: Modern look and feel that’s easy to navigate.

View education assignments and opportunities in the same Workday application you already use to access your paycheck, benefit enrollments, and Workday inbox tasks.

Simpler process for new coworkers to know what to do as they join our Franciscan family.

Easy access to learning wherever you are, including mobile access through the Workday app.

FUTURE ENHANCEMENTS

View types of positions and related education for those interested in learning and developing.

Learning journeys that align relevant, engaging content with skills and career paths.

What to do

Learning Compass won’t be available to coworkers and managers after the transition! 


  • Complete any required education (e.g., Annual Mandatory Education, others).
  • Download/save/print contact hour certificates from Learning Compass if needed for continuing education to maintain a license or certification.
  • Complete Workday Learning training when launched (watch for training details when we announce a go-live date).



Looking ahead

  • We will have training and resources to help leaders, coworkers, learning system advanced users (e.g., admin lites, instructors, course creators), and nonemployed extended learners (e.g., students) be prepared for the transition.
  • Watch for training communication, timelines, cutover details, and more as we get closer to implementation.
