SERVICES THIS WEEKEND
Dear Life Community Church,
We are canceling our services this Sunday, March 15, not because we are afraid, but because of compassion and love towards the most vulnerable.
We know that Jesus did not give us a spirit of fear but gave us a spirit of love, power and a sound mind.
And sound minds, through the wisdom of many (“but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” Proverbs 11:14) have shown us that in order to protect the most vulnerable and those that would be susceptible to this virus, it is better that we take a break this Sunday where we can spend time in prayer with family members and close friends.
With the responsibility as your leader and as your shepherd, I do not make this decision lightly. There has been much prayer, much counsel, much observing of what other wise churches and organizations are doing, and scripture DOES teach us to be wise, and again not to be redundant but this decision is not being made out of fear but out of respectful to the most vulnerable, to honor them and love them and to keep them safe.
We will reassess where we are at as a community with this virus at the beginning of the week, but we believe this is the most compassionate thing that we can do at this time.
I ask that you take the time this Sunday where you would normally come to Life Community Church and welcome the spirit of Life Community Church into your home. I ask that you would pray for our world, for our country, for our community, for our church and for those who have been affected by this virus.
Take the time to walk through and meditate on the 23 Psalm and the questions that are attached.
Would you also take the time to pray for those that are in need physically, relationally, emotionally and spiritually.
Would you take time to pray for those that do not know the hope of Christ.
Again this decision is not made lightly but out of respect, out of compassion, out of dignity and out of love.
Sincerely,
Kyle Thomsen
