Lisa has extensive experience with both healthcare management and financial oversight of not-for-profits. She is a healthcare executive with 30 years of progressive leadership experience in the not-for-profit sector. She has worked in many areas of service to Manitobans including addictions, mental health, homelessness, acute care, long term care, primary care, education and regulation, and has served as Executive Director, Director and a care provider in Winnipeg, the Interlake and Northern Manitoba. 

Lisa has managed budgets exceeding 9 million dollars and led agencies with over 200 staff in multiple locations. Lisa has many years’ experience as a Board Member and serving Boards as their Executive Director; her expertise and interest in governance has garnered her respect and assisted many organizations. Lisa has developed strong communications skills and managed media relations through complex situations and in times of crisis. Lisa will bring an expertise in program development, member services, operations, health & wellness, finance and human resources to the association.

Lisa began her education in nursing, at the end of 2017 she completed her Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Management (PBDM) from Athabasca University; this is the first half of the MBA that she is soon to complete.

When you ask Lisa what’s next, she will say she is invested in life long learning and there is always more to learn.

Lisa has spent a career advocating for person centeredness and choice in healing modalities, equity, the use of peer support & multidisciplinary teams in our health care systems, and for the investment in prevention.

Lisa has two girls, two furry children and a caring partner that supports her as she leads agencies with the goal of providing optimal health, choice, service and wellness for Manitobans.
