Dear Village Resident,
Out of an abundance of caution during the Coronavirus Pandemic, starting today, th e Village Municipal Center will be closed to foot traffic until further notice. Staff will continue to be in the office to maintain operations and to serve residents. Residents are encouraged to conduct business via email at info@springgrovevillage.com or phone at 815-675-2121. Please see additional important information below.
Main Street Closure
Main Street will be closed until further notice to thru traffic from Blivin to Winn Road starting Monday, March 23, during construction of a new culvert where the creek goes under the road. Access to the elementary school, St. Peter Church, and other businesses can be made from Blivin Street.
The Police Department
The Police Department's response to the Coronavirus pandemic will be as follows:
 
  • Non-emergency reports will be taken via telephone. Leave a message on the non-emergency phone number at 815-675-2596 and an officer will call you back as soon as possible. If your call is after normal business hours and you reach a dispatcher, (McHenry County Sheriff’s Office), they will take your information and an officer will return your call as soon as possible. Examples of non-emergency calls are (but not limited to): damage to property, fraud or theft.
  • Police officers will continue to physically respond to all high-priority, emergency and in-progress calls that affect life-safety issues.
  • The Police Department is implementing new procedures in an attempt to limit its first responders exposure to any current health and wellness issues.
  • IN ANY EMERGENCY, AS ALWAYS, CALL 911.
  • Tickets and other police payments can be made on-line here.
Building Permits and Inspections
Building permits can be processed through email or regular mail, or dropped off in the vestibule area at the front door of the Municipal Centre. Permit applications can be found on-line here and be printed out and emailed to bwalczak@springgrovevillage.com with accompanying paperwork, mailed to 7401 Meyer Road, or dropped off as stated above. The Village will make every effort to ensure timely inspections, but for the safety of residents and inspectors, this may not always be possible.
Payments
Permit, water/sewer, and miscellaneous payments can be mailed, made on-line here, or can be placed in the ticket drop box outside the front door of the Municipal Centre.
Prescription Drug Drop-Off Box
The prescription drug collection box located in the foyer of the Municipal Centre is closed until further notice.
Richmond Township Emergency Proclamation
Richmond Township has declared in a proclamation that a disaster exists within Richmond Township which can be read here . They are also making changes to the Richmond-Burton Senior Transportation Program to adjust for the emergency.
