Announcing Our Texas Foundations Fund
2021 Winter Storm Relief Grantees
When Winter Storm Uri hit Texas communities earlier this year, we knew that we wanted to help Texans recover from the extensive damages to plumbing and housing across the state of Texas. Thus, TSAHC created the 2021 Winter Storm special funding round offered through our Texas Foundations Fund.

This month we awarded grants to 15 nonprofit partners that are providing critical home repairs in response to Winter Storm Uri. TSAHC awarded a total of $300,000 in emergency grant funding to the following partners:
A Thank You to Lali Shipley
Earlier this month, we celebrated the valuable hard work and dedication of Lali Shipley, who has served on TSAHC's Board of Directors for the past two years. During this time, Lali lent her experience and expertise to TSAHC, providing vital input on our day-to-day operations in order to ensure our programs remain as beneficial as possible to Texas residents across the state.

We'd like to thank Lali again for all the time and support she has given us over the years. Though we are sad to see her go, we cannot wait to support her in her future endeavors!

TSAHC Spotlight Series: The AHA! at Briarcliff Apartments
This is the latest entry in our On the House spotlight series.

TSAHC periodically spotlights affordable housing developments across the state to help readers understand what they look like, how they are financed, and who lives there. This week, we are focusing our spotlight on the AHA! at Briarcliff Apartments, a property financed in part by TSAHC’s Texas Housing Impact Fund.
Podcast Episode 16: An In-depth Conversation About Fair Housing
April is National Fair Housing Month, but do you know your housing rights and what's required of housing providers? Join us as Frank Duplechain III and Michael Wilt, our newest guest host, visit with Ellena E. Rodriguez, Manager of Outreach, Compliance & Resolutions with the Texas Workforce Commission's Civil Rights Division to break down what the Fair Housing Act is and the protections it provides.
Podcast Episode 15: All About Property Taxes
When buying a home, it's important to consider all the costs that are involved in the process. But equally important are the taxes that come after the home buying process. This week, we sit down with James Matias, a TSAHC team member who has been a licensed REALTOR® for more than 15 years, to discuss what property taxes are, how they work, and what you can do to save money in the long run.
Celebrating Fair Housing Month
This year, April 11th will mark the fifty-third anniversary of when President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Fair Housing Act of 1968 into law.

This historic piece of legislation, formerly known as Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, expanded upon the Civil Rights Act of 1964, securing protections against housing discrimination based on race, religion, national origin, disability, and family status. The Fair Housing Act also protects Americans’ right to rent or buy a home, obtain a mortgage, and/or purchase home insurance.
