Hi Zach,

We hope you’ve enjoyed your summer and look forward to arriving on campus soon!

We know many of you have started the design and layout of your room! Before you finalize those details, we wanted to ensure we provided our best tips for making the most of your space while adhering to our policies and procedures outlined in our Guide to Community Living.

Please make a note of the following in preparation for your arrival.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

  • Review the Guide to Community Living. It houses all of the information you need about our facilities, policies, procedures, services, staff, and more! Take a close look at Chapter 4!
  • As you’re configuring your new space, please be mindful that our beds are not loftable, but can be adjusted approximately 36 inches above the floor.
  • If students are interested in raising their bed above 36 inches, they must purchase bed risers that are labeled and listed for that purpose and do not exceed 18 total inches in height.
  • Please note that all items included in your room must remain in your room, provided items cannot be removed or replaced
  • It may be helpful to bring some basic tools with you (rubber mallet, hammer, screwdriver, etc.) as you and your family assemble new items for your room!
  • Please use 3M (command strips) products to hang your items in your room. At the end of the year, you can leave them on the walls, and WFU staff will take them down.
  • Please do not put nails in the walls.
  • Please consult the Guide to Community Living for what can and cannot be hung where within your space.
  • You may NOT ship directly to your building. All mail, including packages, goes through the University’s mail services. View more details on their website.
  • For those who are in doubles, we strongly recommend discussing your room layout and bed adjustments with your roommate before your arrival.
  • Even though you may be assigned "Bed A" or "Bed B" in our system, how you choose to arrange your beds and space is totally up to you!
