Your guide to a successful move out

Moving can be stressful and we want to make sure you have a smooth move out day! Included in this packet is information on turning in your keys, move out charges and other important information about moving out!

Please ensure all balances are paid and your contact information/forwarding address is correct in your resident portal

Return Keys

After you are done moving out and the apartment is cleaned, you will need to bring your keys/items to the front office to fill out your move out checklist. You will turn in all keys, wrist band and parking decal (Front Door, Bedroom, Mailbox key and gym access card) at this time. All keys must be turned in at the same time. You will be charged for any keys not returned.

Cancel Utilities

If utilities are in your name with College Station Utilities, it is your responsibility to take your name off and cancel your account with them directly to avoid any additional fees. If it is not your name and you are signed up with Simple Bills, you will need to cancel your account with Simple Bills.

Forward Mail

Campus Village will not be responsible for forwarding any mail/packages. The forwarding address is ONLY for your Final Move Out Statement or refunds. Any mail received after the last day of your lease, will be returned to the sender. Please forward your mail through the USPS website.

Saturday July 31

10:00AM

You must be out of your apartment by 10:00am. If you or your belongings are in the apartment after 10.00am, you will be charged by the hour!

Plan on moving out early?

You do not have to wait until July 31^st to turn in your keys! If you move out early just bring your items to the leasing office and we will have you complete your move out form. We recommend you lock your bedroom door once you have finished moving out since we might not be able to do a final walk the same day.

*You are still responsible for rent and utilities through July 31st even if you move out early.

Move Out Charges

What about damages in the common area?

All damages or cleaning charges that are in the living room, kitchen, balcony and/or laundry room will be split between all roommates. If you feel you are not responsible for the damage in the common area, you will need to send a dispute AFTER you receive your final statement.

When will I know if I have any charges?

Within 4 days of your move out you will receive an email with your final statement. Your final statement will also be mailed to the forwarding address we have on file.

How long do I have to pay after I receive my final statement?

You will have 30 days to pay any final charges before it is sent to collections.

What if I don't agree with the charges?

All disputes are required to be in writing to [email protected] within 72 hours AFTER you receive your final statement. After 72 hours of receiving your statement we will NOT be reviewing any disputes. They have to be submitted within 72 hours of your final statement. Please do not send any disputes until you receive your final statement.

CLEANING

After you have removed all of your personal property, you are to thoroughly clean each room, hall, closet, stairwell, etc. from top to bottom using appropriate cleaning products to remove any dirt, dust, grime, grease, bugs, spider webs, fingerprints, spilled or splattered products; including:

Removal of all personal possessions (including coat hangers) as well as garbage/trash
Trim (baseboards, window sill and molding, door molding, door/both sides, outlet covers)
Ceiling fans & Light Fixtures
Ceiling and corners free of spider webs and dirt
Vents including return air vent (best not to use water, instead use vacuum)
Flooring (scrub and mop, remove all scuffs and stains)
Carpet (vacuumed, steam clean to removes spots, including stains)
Cabinets (interior and exterior)
Counter tops (free of stains)
Bath walls (wash off sprays and spatters)
Appliances (thoroughly clean interior and exterior)
Stove (eye rings, drip pans and under drip pans) and Oven (DO NOT use oven cleaner in self‐cleaning oven)
Refrigerator (when through cleaning DO NOT unplug or turn off) Please note that if the refrigerator is move out too far or is not moved back carefully, the supply line to the icemaker may become loose or crimped causing minor to severe leaks.
Sinks, Bathtubs, fixtures, and toilets (scrub and disinfect all sinks, bathtubs, chrome fixtures, toilet and toilet tanks)
Mirrors (remove all stickers)
Patios and decks (sweep off patios and sidewalk, clean up spills and stains)
Leave appliance manuals and clean broiler pan

REMINDERS

Normal wear and tear is not dirt or soiled areas.

Damage to carpet is responsibility of Resident(s).

Do not put furniture or large items in or around dumpster, you will be fined for doing so.

All garbage/trash must be placed inside dumpster, not beside it. If dumpsters are full, please contact Landlord.

Please be careful around carpeted areas if using bleach to clean bathroom and kitchen. A charge will be assessed for bleach stains unless previously noted on move‐in inspection report.
