Dear Mansfield Community Center Members,
The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly affected all of us and created extraordinary challenges for people, businesses and municipalities across the country. We too, here at Mansfield Community Center, have been impacted and continue to experience financial consequences as a direct result of the pandemic because of a decline in membership, program and other daily revenue. Along with guidance from the Mansfield Town Council, staff have reviewed multiple options to reduce the projected fiscal year deficit and continue to maintain core services to our customers.
As a result, the following necessary changes to the Community Center hours are effective as of Thursday, December 10, 2020 until further notice. We know that these temporary changes may affect you but hope you are able to remain flexible as we continue our commitment of providing a safe and healthy facility while contending with the pandemic.
New Community Center Hours:
Mon-Fri, 5:30am-1:30pm and 3:30-8:00pm
(Comprehensive cleaning but closed to members and visitors, Mon-Fri, 1:30pm-3:30pm)
Planned Holiday Closings:
Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day,
Good Friday, Easter, and Memorial Day
I know you may have questions about when we may be able to restore hours to the Community Center. I remain cautiously optimistic that we can return to a more familiar operation in the late spring of 2021 and ask you for your continued support and patience.
On behalf of the entire Community Center team, I want to thank you for your kind words of support, generous cash donations, and continued confidence in our staff during these difficult times! We are here to serve you and take pride in improving the quality of life in our local communities. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Kim Rontey, Member Services Coordinator (RonteyKB@mansfieldct.org) or me (OKeefeJM@mansfieldct.org). You can also reach one of us at 860-429-3015.
