Dear HBC Member,
We hope you are doing well during these most challenging of times. We here at HBC have been working diligently during the past several months in our efforts to survive these unprecedented events.
As you may be aware many local, regional and national businesses have been hit extremely hard by this Pandemic and the Covid-19 shutdown. Some predict many of these businesses will not survive and will be closed forever. Signs of this locally here in Alameda are already evident as you drive down Park Street, Webster Street and the South Shore Shopping Center.
We here at HBC have not been immune to the impacts of Covid-19 and the Governmental orders put in place.
Our activities and our future are mandated and controlled by the State of California, the County of Alameda and the City of Alameda. Working with ownership, partners, lenders, staff and others we have been able to keep HBC open to limited approved programs and services as authorized under the regulatory Guidelines and Restrictions.
To date this has included:
Access to Tennis & Pickleball Courts and Programs
Access to Fitness Classes and Programs, both on-site and online.
Access to Swimming Programs and Services
Summer Camps
School Programs
Limited Spa services
This week we will be opening up an outside Fitness Equipment Program. Located on Court #1 this will allow all members access to the remaining major element of HBC’s programming.
To date all members accessing the Club have “opted-in” and their March dues credit was applied to their account.
With the opening of the outside Fitness Equipment Program all remaining members will be automatically “opted-in” and their March dues credit will be applied to the month of October.
We are hoping that the vast majority of HBC Members will participate. By our calculations it will require 90% of the membership in order to pay the bills and keep the doors open. Any thing short of that could impact the viability of keeping the Harbor Bay Club open.
We miss you and we look forward to seeing you in the near future and we thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding. We are all in this together and working together we can succeed.
