Welcome Becky Schermer
to the HR Team!
Please join us in welcoming Becky Schermer to the HR team! Becky began her position as Human Resources Coordinator on June 4, 2018. Becky will be responsible for leading the implementation of the BP Logix software. She will also work with a variety of human resources related functions including employee relations, hiring, employment contracts, and policy management. Becky comes to us with over 25 years of experience in Human Resources. 
  Educators Days with The Brewers!

The Brew Crew's three-game series against the Padres runs August 7-9.  UW-Parkside would like to invite you and your guests to the evening of Wednesday, August 8 The discounted ticket price is $21. In order to get the discount, we need at least 25 participants. If you are interested in attending, please contact Dalinda Galaviz at or at x2263 or Kim Burke at , or at x2042 on or before June 27 at 4:30. Money is due by July 2, 2018.
Employee Handbook Available

We are pleased to announce that an Employee Handbook is now available for all staff. The handbook is a "one stop" place to find employment related policies. We encourage you to take time to review the handbook and contact us with any questions that you may have. Below is the link to the handbook:
New Hire Orientation

In addition to the new hire orientation held in August each year, The Human Resources Department will conduct a "mini" new hire orientation for all new employees hired throughout the academic year. The New Hire Orientation will be held monthly with the first session on June 20. Please contact Human Resources with any questions.
Important Payroll Information
ACA HOURS LIMIT :  Student employees will be allowed to work up to 40 hours per week from May 27 though August 18, 2018, for the summer months and December 23, 2018 through January 19, 2019. Please also note, student employees are not permitted to work over the 25 hour limit during Spring Break. Please see  US Gen 20 for more information.
Faculty Summer Session Pay Explained!

Summer session 2018 began 05/21/2018. As a reminder, if you are working the summer session, pay over the summer is slightly different than during the academic year. HR has developed a training PowerPoint titled Summer Session Pay Explained which details how pay is distributed during the summer months. Following the link for more information.

My UW Portal

Summer is a great time to access your personal information in My UW System portal and make changes as needed. You can update a variety of personal information including home address, home phone/email, emergency contacts, marital status, ethnicity/race, veteran status, and disability. Other information which you can only review can be modified by completing an Employee Data Form or contacting Human Resources at 262-595-2204.

Did you know that less than 50% of employees provide emergency contact information? Even less update emergency or personal contact information on a regular basis. For your own safety and for the peace of mind of those closest to you, take a moment to review and update your personal information including emergency contact and personal contact . The effectiveness of our response in a crisis relies on the quality of contact information provided by you.

How to Review and Update Personal Information
  • On the UW Parkside home page, select Logins in the upper right hand corner of the page.
  • Select My UW Portal and login using your network ID and password.
  • Click on the Launch full app hyperlink on the Personal Information tile (pictured above).
  • Review the personal information that appears on the page.
  • To update personal information, click on Update My Personal Information hyperlink and select from one of the many information categories, like Contact Details or Emergency contacts, etc.
