Let them extol him [God] in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders. Psalm 107:32
Dear friends,
The first month of the new year is already half-way over, and the people of Trinity have already started the year serving others, planning new programs, and preparing for our congregation’s annual meeting.
This year’s annual meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 27 at 6:00 p.m. online. The entire meeting will be virtual, and we invite you to register today. (See the information below in this e-news.)
At our annual meeting, you’ll hear reports from the dean, from the treasurer, from the senior warden, and we will celebrate the ministries that have taken place during the last twelve months. We’ll also elect three people to serve three-year terms on the cathedral chapter, our governing body.
Due to an overwhelming response from our congregation, the chapter and the nominating committee will bring forward the following names to stand for election to chapter. They are as follows:
Kyle Boston • Sean Bryan • Rocko Cook • Tom Edwards • Teresa Hare • Jim Hession • Matt Jewett • Alison Moran • Lynette Spring • Robert Spring • Wendy Weston
All of these individuals are simply outstanding, and the Holy Spirit has acted among us, raising up members of our congregation for leadership during this time. This is the finest and most varied candidate list that the people of Trinity have ever been able to produce. God is indeed watching over us during these tumultuous times.
The nominating committee could not be more fortunate to present these candidates to you. Further biographical information about each candidate will be furnished to you very soon. For now, I invite your prayers for all those standing for election. Congratulations and thank you to all who are willing to serve!
As in all elections, it is very important for the people of Trinity to participate and vote. Your participation and attendance at this online meeting is warmly welcomed!
Please read carefully the additional information contained in this e-news. Your cathedral staff and clergy are here to assist with any questions or concerns. We want to make participation easy and enjoyable for all who are able to attend!
This year is off to an excellent start at Trinity, and I know that the presence of the Holy Spirit is guiding us along paths of God’s righteousness. We are entering a time when God is living and moving and breathing among the congregation. Our response will most definitely be filled with wonder, love, and praise!
With all of God’s blessings,

Grief Recovery: Moving Beyond Loss
|
|
If you are reading this now, there is a high probability that you, or someone you love, is suffering from a broken heart. During this time we have been in varied states of isolation from one another, you may have experienced the death of a family member or friend, the ending of a relationship, or another major loss, and these losses may be compounding. Your grief may be something you have carried from long before 2020. You may be experiencing significant feelings of sorrow, confusion, distraction, or a general "soul sickness." You are not alone.
Grief is the normal and natural reaction to loss of any kind; the conflicting feelings caused by the end or or change in a familiar pattern of behavior. You are not alone. If you would like to walk alongside others who are experiencing grief, and feel ready to seek a journey toward healing and recovery, you are invited to join Canon Holly for 7 weeks of Grief Recovery in the Season of Lent. Gatherings will be on Tuesday evenings from 6-7:30p on Zoom, on 2/16, 2/23, 3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, and 3/30. Group size is limited to 12 total.

Trinity Cathedral
Benevolence Fund
|
|
Dear Friends,
Your cathedral chapter has established a Benevolence Fund to provide financial support for individuals and families who have fallen on difficult times financially as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The scale of the coronavirus crisis is unmatched in recent history. It is a global pandemic that has reshaped society at every level and is reorienting our relationship to our community and to one another.
Our cathedral community has always rallied around members when they've experienced extreme hardship, and this is one of the ways that all of us can do something to help.
To that end, the cathedral chapter has established a restricted fund known as The Benevolence Fund to provide financial support for individuals and families who have fallen on difficult times financially as a result of or in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Whether people have lost jobs, had pay reduced, or are struggling to survive, the Benevolence Fund is designed to provide one-time payments to help those affiliated with Trinity Cathedral move through these unprecedented times.
We are the people of Trinity Cathedral, and daily, we live into our mission: Welcoming all to be transformed in Christ through worship, fellowship, and service.
