Due to COVID-19, the Wilkes County Public Library building is closed to the public. Many services are available online. Contact-free curbside pickup services will start on Tuesday, May 26 @ 1:30 pm. You can place holds and we will do our best to get other items that you want. Our website and Facebook page have fantastic programs and materials for you to enjoy. The exciting Summer Reading Program begins in just three weeks!

Wilkes County Public Library invites everyone
to participate in
our summer reading program, "Imagine Your Story"/"Cuéntame Tu Historia."

 One of our favorite repeat performers, Big Bang Boom, has recorded a video which will be posted on our Facebook page on June 15! Starting on Saturday, June 13 and Tuesday, June16, we will have summer reading bags available for pick up at the library.

Contact-free Curbside Pickup Services Start May 26 at Wilkes

Wilkes Main Library will be open Tues., 1:30-6 pm and Weds.-Sat.,
10 am to 2:30 pm. Call us at 336-838-2818 (option 1) or place holds for items at wilkeslibrary.org . Traphill Branch Library will be open Thurs., 10 am to 2:30 pm. Call 336-863-3563 or place holds at wilkeslibrary.org .

We will notify you when your holds are ready to pick up. Call us when you are in the pull-through area at Wilkes' lower level or in the parking lot at Traphill. Staff will place your bagged items with your name attached on the table at the library's entrance. You will need to leave your vehicle to pick up your items.

Summer Reading Program:
Fun Programs, Crafts & Prizes!

Adults will receive their BINGO card in their bag with some fun goodies.

Families will be able to pick up summer reading bags starting Saturday, June 13. Weekly themed kits will be available when the library opens each week. The kits will include craft materials, instructions, and a variety of other materials based on the weekly theme.

Accessing online & digital resources tips: Use your library card number and pin, which is the last 4 numbers of your phone number. Or, if you are a student in Wilkes County public schools, you can log in with your student ID (lunch) number. Your pin is the last 4 numbers of your student ID. Need to download an app? The Libby App is the easiest to access. When NC Live asks your institution, it is Appalachian Regional Library.
SNAP update

Due to COVID-19, the Spay/ Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) through the Humane Society of Wilkes is not active now. The good news is that the $10 cat special will be available when services resume.
Friends of the Library
Book Sale Update

Due to COVID-19, the Friends of Wilkes County Public Library are not holding book sales now. You can donate books, either by putting them in the green metal container at their building behind the Stone Center or by leaving boxes of books at the building's entrance, and please only when it's not raining.
