Hello, RiverTree Lake family!
As COVID-19, or coronavirus, continues to dominate the news and is a cause of concern and uncertainty within our communities, we want to take a moment to address how we, as a church, are planning for the weeks ahead. We know that God is sovereign, yet we also want to make every effort to pray, think and plan practically during this unpredictable season.
We have reached out to state and local health officials for their counsel in light of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s executive order today. We have also spoken with several other pastors in our area to gain perspective on how best to move forward at this time.
At this point, we have made the decision to suspend in-person weekend services over the next 3 weekends (March 14/15, March 21/22, and March 28/29).
This isn’t an easy decision. For so many of us, gathering for worship is the highlight of our week. However, as followers of Jesus, we feel a responsibility to consider the health and wellness of our entire community. Thankfully, technology allows us to stay connected & engaged in this season. We will be moving to Online Weekend Services effective this weekend.
Here’s what that means for weekend worship:
- We’ll post on our Facebook, on our website and will email you a video that allows you to worship in your home.
- This is an easy way to invite friends, neighbors and family to worship alongside you.
- This is also a great opportunity to worship by “being the church” outside the walls of the church building. Take time to eat a meal with a neighbor, pray for the sick, find practical ways to bless those who are struggling.
Many of you worship through your giving and generosity - and we are so appreciative. Since we will not be meeting or collecting offering in person over the next 3 weeks, please join us in giving your gifts online.
Online giving enables us to be the church we need to be in times like these. Will you please consider giving online?
