As we enter Stage 3 (scheduled to begin May 24) of Governor Holcomb's Back on Track Indiana reopening plan and prepare to open our community pools, there are important new policies we must follow, as established by the Indiana State Department of Health. If the Governor's reopening maintains the timeline as it currently stands, these polices will remain in place through July 3.

Please carefully review the information below. There are new polices and procedures in place that differ from previous years.

  • Our pools are scheduled to open on Sunday, May 24 at 10 a.m. (earliest date allowed by the Governor's reopening plan). Last day of operation for the season is Monday, Sept. 7.

  • Pool hours of operation are:
  • Provost - 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Goldwater and Webster - 10 a.m.-8 p.m. except for school-day hours (Aug. 11-Sept. 4) which are 4 p.m.-8 p.m.

  • Everyone entering the pool area will be required to complete a Waiver and Release form which will be kept on file. These forms will be available beginning Monday, May 18 at the OA office, downloadable from our website, and at each pool.

  • Your scan cards should continue to work but if you have concerns, please visit the OA office after May 18 to have them checked. New residents who do not have scan cards will need to visit the OA office to complete resident forms and receive scan cards and new resident information.

  • Pool monitors will control admission to the pool area. No one will be allowed to enter without permission of the pool monitor.

  • Pool rules relevant to COVID-19 regulations will be posted at each pool, available in printed form, and downloadable from our website.

  • Capacity restrictions will be in place as determined by the Indiana State Department of Health. Due to these restrictions, the pools will be open to residents only. NO GUESTS will be allowed.

  • No one under the age of 18 will be admitted to the pool area unless accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

  • You will need to bring your own chairs. We will not be putting out any Village-owned furniture during this time.

  • You must maintain at least 6 feet between you and other people who are not a part of your household. "Pods" will be marked to accommodate this spacing.

  • Group games or activities such as water volleyball, water basketball or other similar activities involving multiple people in close proximity will not be allowed.

  • Parents and chaperones of children, not lifeguards, will be responsible for social distancing by children while in the pool.

  • Rafts and flotation devices will not be allowed. Pool toys will only be permitted if they are used exclusively by the family bringing them.

  • You must not enter the pool area if you have a cough, fever or other symptoms of illness.

  • You should wear a face covering when you are not in the swimming pool. NEVER wear a face covering while actively swimming, or allow children to do so.

  • You are responsible for washing your hands as well as any object(s) you bring into the pool area.

We realize there is a lot of information to process here. We will continue
to provide details and clarify as needed.
As always, don't hesitate to reach out to the OA with questions or concerns.
