PPP FUNDS EXHAUSTED; YOU CAN HELP
|
|
SBA
officially announced
that it has
exhausted its $349 billion in Paycheck Protection Program funding.
We are urging you to make a direct appeal to congressional leadership because small businesses need immediate funding to keep their businesses open and keep employees on the payroll.
Please call (202) 224-3121 to urge leaders in Congress to approve additional PPP funding immediately.
Ask to be connected to with Senate Majority Leader McConnell, Senate Minority Leader Schumer, House Speaker Pelosi or House Minority Leader McCarthy offices. Whether you get a staffer or voice mail, here’s all you need to say:
- I am calling to ask Congress to immediately approve additional funding for the Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program. Please approve additional funding today.
- PPP has been a lifeline for small businesses across the country, allowing them to preserve jobs. Don’t let this lifeline go away.
Let’s make sure Congress hears our loud, clear, unified message. We need to save small businesses now.

PPP FORGIVENESS INFORMATION
|
|
If you received a Paycheck Protection Program loan, make sure you’re keeping detailed records of how you’re spending relief funds so you receive the correct amount of loan forgiveness. Use this loan to pay your workers, keep them employed & remember to record it.
Expenses in these categories during the subsequent eight weeks are subject to forgiveness under the PPP program:
- Payroll costs;
- Interest on mortgage obligations incurred before February 15, 2020;
- Rent payments on leases dated before February 15, 2020; and
- Utility payments under service agreements dated before February 15, 2020.
At least 75% of the proceeds must be used on payroll costs, and no more than 25% on non-payroll expenses.
Forgiveness of a PPP loan
PPP loan proceeds that were used by the borrower solely for the approved expenses detailed above will generally be fully forgiven by the lender if certain employee headcount and compensation requirements are met.
However, PPP loan forgiveness will be reduced for borrowers that have certain reductions in employee headcount or salary and wages, because the focus of PPP is to ensure that employees keep getting paid. Therefore, if these situations occur, less of the loan will be forgiven by the bank and SBA and the borrower will need to repay the amounts not forgiven at the required interest rate.
How can I request loan forgiveness?
You can submit a request to the lender that is servicing the loan. The request will include documents that verify the number of full-time equivalent employees and pay rates, as well as the payments on eligible mortgage, lease, and utility obligations. You must certify that the documents are true and that you used the forgiveness amount to keep employees and make eligible mortgage interest, rent, and utility payments. The lender must make a decision on the forgiveness within 60 days.
