Important Recital Info:
Costumes
Dear DCE families,

We are very excited to be moving forward with the next steps for Recital 2021: June 7-13 right here at Studio5!

In addition to the preliminary information that was sent out earlier this session, here are some important updates about recital costumes, including how to pay costume invoices and submit dancer's measurements.

INVOICES:
  • Beginning Thursday, March 18, the majority* of Recital 2021 costume invoices will be sent out to families to the email address on file. *Costume invoices for students in Ballet 5 & Academy and all Boys/Mens students are sent out later in the session.
  • You will see a Recital Fee line item on your costume invoice. This fee, in lieu of tickets, is calculated based on the number of classes your dancer is doing in recital and covers your and your family's access to the live stream, recorded videos, and in-person recital performances where possible. This fee offsets the cost of self-producing this year's recital, including technical elements, administrative functions, and faculty & staff time.
  • Costume invoices are payable online through the Customer Portal or through the DCE office. If your costume invoice is ready to be paid, you will find it listed in the Portal under "Payment."
  • Dance Center Evanston makes every effort to keep costumes simple and economical. We will let you know when costumes are ready for pickup in classes later this spring.

MEASUREMENTS:
Due for all students by Thursday, March 25!
  • This year, to minimize being in close contact with students and sharing items to try on, we are asking families to take their dancer's measurements at home. Measurements are required to be submitted in order to get accurate sizing for recital costumes.
  • To provide your dancer's measurements, please log in to the Customer Portal, select Session II 2021 Registration, and click on My Account - Costume Measurements. (See below for a visual.)
  • Getting your dancer's measurements is quick and easy! Check out this video for a guide.
  • You can use a tape measure or a piece of string and a ruler to get accurate measurements.
  • Female dancers in only Tippy Toes, Pre-Ballet, or Student Division Ballet classes only need to submit Waist, Hip, and Height measurements for accurate ballet skirt sizing. Male dancers and female dancers in other classes should submit all measurements.
Watch for more information about Recital Week coming soon, including a detailed schedule. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to respond to this email or give us a call at 847-328-6683. We're here to help!
