BDS Recital Update
Awesome parents,
We are so excited to announce our 2021 Spring Recital Date: May 29th, 2021 at the Hays Performing Arts Center!
Although we love hosting our annual recital at Life Austin, we are not able to continue renting the indoor sanctuary anymore given the church has so much of their own programming. In today's climate, we've found there is a huge shortage of performance venues in Austin and anywhere nearby.
We are incredibly fortunate to have found a space that had one weekend in May available, and it is Memorial Day weekend. We are hoping that you will understand the limited options available to us right now and try to be flexible, so that we can still provide your dancer with a wonderful recital experience. The venue is amazing and all that we could ask for, with tons of audience seating, huge backstage areas/dressing rooms, a great stage, lighting, etc., and our company kids are very familiar with the space, having performed there almost every year for competitions.

Where: Hays Performing Arts Center in Kyle, 979 Kohlers Crossing, Kyle (approx 20 minute drive from the studio - should be able to avoid traffic since on a Saturday afternoon)
When: Saturday, May 29th, at 10:30am for the D&D show and 1:30pm for the variety show (ages 6+)
Recital performance fee:
You have already paid for your costume fee(s) this past fall, but the performance fee of $70 was set to be charged on February 15th. Due to the feedback from the winter shows and because we want to allow you to choose your seats so you can socially distance but keep your family/friend group seated together, we have decided to use an online ticketing system. (More information to come at a later date) Therefore, we are lowering the performance fee to $50 and allowing you to choose and purchase your seats through a separate online purchasing system not linked to your Studio Director account. The $50 fee includes renting the venue, staff time for rehearsal and show, a recital trophy, professional photos of the performance, and a (professionally captured) video link of the entire show.
We will be providing you with more updates monthly as we get closer to this special day, but wanted to update you on some of the modifications we have made to make this a better experience for your dancer and your family!
