Dear Live Oak Community,

Over the last 10 days, the Live Oak RTCTF and administration communicated several important updates regarding the start of school, including both on-campus and enhanced distance learning options beginning on August 19, 2020. These plans fell within the local authorities guidelines (defined at the time) and the State of Texas Attorney General’s legal opinion stating all private religious educational institutions had the autonomy to determine future instructional decisions external to local orders and guidelines.

This afternoon, as did all McLennan County residents, we received the local order stating all schools - both public and private - shall not re-open for on-campus, face-to-face instruction until after September 7, 2020.

At this time, LO is working to determine if we are able to proceed as planned according to the state and local law and/or if it is in the best interest of the school to continue as previously planned. At this time, no decision nor change in plans have been determined, decided nor communicated.

While we understand this is frustrating and continues with the sense of the unknown, we are working through this information in the best manner possible. We are working tirelessly to provide an invaluable Live Oak education that fully supports our mission of faith, academic excellence and student life development coupled with our commitment to providing a safe and healthy environment for our students, faculty and families.

With hope for a better tomorrow,
