From the Principal - Mrs. Amy Nelson
Dear Parent(s),

I am hoping that this email finds everyone healthy and beginning to enjoy the beauty of tranquility that summer days bring. I would also like to welcome our new families to St. John the Baptist School. The teachers and I look forward to the upcoming school year.

All administrators have been informed that the Department of Public Instruction will be putting out guidelines for schools to consider when planning for returning to school in the fall. These guidelines are expected to be shared with administrators within the next week. My intent is to have students back in school in fall, but as you are aware we must adhere to CDC guidelines, the Governor's mandates, and our local health agency. As planning for the fall continues, the health and safety of your child(ren) and our staff remain of utmost importance.

Thank you for those that have completed the Virtual Learning survey. If you haven't completed it, I would encourage you to do so. The information gathered will assist us in making necessary improvements moving forward should the upcoming school year have to include any type of virtual learning. Lastly, as you know, the COVID-19 situation and the uncertainty that has come with it has made it stressful and in some cases, raised anxiety levels. I have included a few spiritual resources and I encourage you to consider contacting our Guidance Counselor, Mary Calkins, at [email protected] for any resources or suggestions that you may be seeking in particular for socio-emotional needs that you need her assistance with during this time.

With Gratitude,
Amy Nelson
