Dear TVHS Parents/Guardians and Students,

As we prepare for the 2022-2023 school year, we would like to inform you about a number of things taking place. We know summer isn't over yet, but we want to make sure we give you all the information you need to plan for a smooth and wonderful start to the 2022-2023 school year!

Back to School Registration must be completed online for ALL Students:

July 1, 2022
  • Families can begin online registration for the new school year by clicking on ParentVue
  • Once your ParentVUE account is set up, an email will be sent to the address on record with your activation key and instructions on how to activate your new account. Don’t forget to check your spam box just in case you are not seeing it.
  • Please have this step completed before July 18th.
  • Questions? Need help? Visit this LINK from the Tanque Verde Unified School District help you through this process

July 18, 2022
  • Student schedules will go live. Please have your online registration completed by this date to avoid delays.  Please note that we will not have in person schedule pick up days this year. We will be handing this online this year to save families a trip!

  • Students can request schedule changes by clicking on Schedule Change Request. Please allow 1 business day for a response. Please note that a request for a schedule change does not guarantee that a schedule change request will be approved. If a meeting is necessary, you will be notified.

  • It is an expectation that all students will bring their own graphing calculator to school every day. This will be used all four years and students will also be able to use it in college. The TI-84 or TI-84 Plus are the two approved graphing calculator models. Graphing calculators will be available for a yearly rental fee for families who cannot make this investment this year. Students should have their name written on the case of their calculator.

Student Parking:
  • Parking applications will be made available on the TVHS website starting on July 18th under “Transportation & Parking”.

  • Students who had a parking permit in the past must reapply each year.

  • In order for students to receive a parking spot assignment by the first day of school they must complete an application and pay the parking fee by Wednesday, July 27th. We cannot guarantee that applications turned in after this date will be processed by the first day of school.

  • Once all information has been received and the payment has been made on the school store, the parking spot information will be added to StudentVue.

Athletics:
Athletics registration is an electronic process. More information, materials and the registration link will be available on the TVHS athletics website in July. We will notify families in the school newsletter when this goes live.

Physical Education:
Students are required to wear comfortable athletic attire for PE classes. We do not sell official PE uniforms. Students will pay a locker rental fee for physical education classes.

July 21, 2022
Bus Transportation
  • Bus routes will be posted to the district website. Please review these routes as we have made some changes to routes, bus numbers, stops and times. After you have located the stop you would like to use on a regular basis, please call the Transportation office at 520-749-9640 or email transportation@tanq.org. Please include your stop, school and student(s) names when you call or email. If your stop does not have a time listed please give the transportation office a call.
  • We will resume taking notes in the school year 2022-2023. If your child needs to ride a different bus than normal or is taking the bus home with a friend you have three options:
1. Write a note for your child to take to the school office before lunch hour. The office will then confirm the note with the parent and staple a permission slip to the note and give it back to the student.
2. The parent may also call the school. Office staff will write a permission slip and give it to the student.
3. Parents may go into the school office. Office staff will write a permission slip and give it to the student.
The student will hand the permission slip with or without the note to the bus driver allowing the new rider on the bus. If the student does not have a permission slip they will not be allowed to ride the bus.
**Notes will not be accepted to out of district stops.

July 25 - 28, 2022
  • We will have open office hours to help any parents who need assistance with online registration during this week. Click on Online Registration Assistance Requests. Please note that these appointments are not to meet with a counselor or to talk about student schedules.

July 25, 2022
  • Chromebook Check-Out - It is an expectation that all students will bring a laptop to school. Students may bring their own laptop or Chromebook to school and access our network and Google Classroom OR students may request to check out a Chromebook from Tanque Verde High School if they do not have one.
