Hi Hope Family,
As probably most of you have heard, earlier today (Friday) Governor Walz ended the mask mandate for Minnesota. We know that this is welcomed news for many. Under the new order, cities and businesses are able to decide whether or not to keep the mandate. The city of Minneapolis, where Hope Church is located, has decided to keep the mask policy in place. The elder board discussed this issue earlier today. The board agrees that Hope Church should continue to comply with Minneapolis guidelines. This change came quickly. There are guidelines we need more clarification around especially in regards to serving communion. We also anticipate that Minneapolis will soon be changing its mask policy. For now we ask that those who attend Hope Church abide by the mask policy that Minneapolis has in place. This includes for our worship services as well as other ministry events throughout the week. Again we hope to have clearer guidance in the coming week.
As always we believe in situations like this our attitude should reflect that of Philippians 2:3-5, “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.”
Thanks for your patience and understanding in this process!
