We want to share an important update about Medicare telehealth services. Due to new requirements by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, effective October 1, 2025 some telehealth rules that were in place will no longer be covered. There is a possibility that this could be reversed pending additional Congressional action, in which case we will be sure to communicate that to you.
What this means for you as a Medicare patient:
Home-based telehealth for primary care and behavioral health medication management visits are no longer covered. Please note that at this time, these changes do not affect behavioral health therapy.
What you should do:
Staff will be reaching out to patients who have appointments already scheduled. If you are unsure, please check with us before your next telehealth appointment. Our staff can confirm whether your visit is still covered by Medicare.
If telehealth is not covered, we will need to change your appointment to an in-person, on-site visit.
If you have a Medicare Advantage insurance plan, your plan may still cover telehealth services — please contact your plan directly for details.
We know these changes may be frustrating, and we’re here to help. Please call WCHC at 410-378-9696 if you have questions about your upcoming appointment.
