Important Update

It has been determined by our restoration company, roofing company, and insurer in consultation with Pastor Potter that, due to safety and liability concerns, it is not advisable to use the sanctuary until roof repairs are completed. The council will meet (as regularly scheduled) on Monday evening to discuss the impact of this restriction, as well as the rise in COVID-19 cases, and chart a course for our Advent & Christmas worship opportunities, as well as other congregational events.

Here is what you need to know at this time:
  1. Both this Sunday's worship and Thanksgiving "Eve Eve" will be livestreamed from Katie Luther Chapel. Because we cannot physically distance everyone safely, please worship with us from home.
  2. Drive-up communion will be available, along with the Advent bags, on Sunday from Noon to 1:00 p.m. Advent bags will also be available from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Katie Luther Chapel.
  3. The "Reverse" Advent Calendar (described below) will be housed in Katie Luther Chapel and will be a prominent part of our livestreamed worship during Advent. Don't let its new location inhibit your participation!

Please direct all questions to Pastor Potter or Cantor Schmidt. We will keep you updated as our revised plans develop.
HOPE South Florida continues to serve homeless families and veterans during this pandemic. Since March, they are regularly serving double the number of people. We want to help. During the season of Advent, Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church will again be sponsoring a "Reverse" Advent Calendar, to which items are donated, instead of gifts or treats received, each day.

This year, we are focusing our "Reverse" Advent Calendar on food that is single-serve, shelf stable, and ready to eat. Please be mindful as you shop to buy only the items as listed here. If you need us to shop for you, monetary donations are welcome!

We will take all contributions and safely assemble bags of food to distribute at a future shared meal. You may drop off items at Sunday Drive-Up Communion or the Preschool Office (Weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.). Please call Cantor Kurt Schmidt at Zion with any questions - (954) 421-3146, Option 2.
