Dear Crossroads Family,

Greetings to each of you. I pray that you are well and finding ways to be centered in God’s unchanging, loving presence in the whirlwind of the Coronavirus. It seems that everything is changing by the hour. Jesus told us that we would face difficulties in life and that he would never leave us alone. That’s a great promise for all of us right now.

The one thing we know for certain is that what we are going through is not about politics, it is about caring for one another and working hard to create the safest way possible through these next days and weeks. The World Health Organization (WHO) at 12:45 on Wednesday officially declared this is a pandemic. They, along with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), are saying the most important thing right now is containment. We cannot wait for an outbreak before trying to contain the virus; we must do it now.

In an effort to contain community spread, organizations such as the NBA, NCAA, NHL, colleges and universities, and just today Loudoun County Public Schools, have canceled events. According to WHO and CDC, this is the best way to protect millions of people in the country and in our own local community.

In light of this, Crossroads’ leadership has spent a number of hours in prayerful discernment and agree that beginning this Sunday, March 15th through March 22 nd we will be only offering online gatherings we are calling, “Church at Home”. This will be available beginning at 10 am on Sundays and then anytime that is convenient for you via our website or the GOTG0 app

Each week there will be a message, special prayers, music, something for children, a way to share communion at home, and an online way for you to share prayer requests.

We are preparing a weekly prerecorded Family & Children’s and special Intersect reflection for students. We are also working on a variety of other prerecorded resources including guided meditations and chair yoga to strengthen our immune system and calm our nervous system. We will let you know when these are available so you can share with family and friends everywhere.

HOPE Preschool follows the LCPS schedule and is closed until March 20 th . All Imagine Well Being offerings are on hold, as well.  Again, this will be assessed as we move through days when so much changes so fast. We have incredible leadership overseeing the well-being of the children and their families. As a part of the Crossroads family, they will have access to all the helpful resources we are putting together.

During this time when we are not physically together we still need faithful financial support. As you know we are right in the middle of a very important Lenten/Easter offering that supports our Family and SERVE ministries and the upkeep of the building that is used by numerous community groups and our ongoing financial support is also very important.

For all who give online or via the GOTGo app, this is so helpful. If you do not give in one of those two ways, please consider giving online or via the GOTGo app . If you are accustomed to giving on the Sundays that you attend, please consider mailing your check to Crossroads at 43454 Crossroads Drive Ashburn, VA 20147.

In this time period we all need to be praying for Godly wisdom and for us to find a calm in the storm. As part of an active prayer we will be completely sanitizing the building using CDC Guidelines, staff will be working mostly from home, and we will be prayerfully discerning our next steps.

Below are inspiring resources for your spiritual growth and support during these days when we support one another in new ways and listen for the promises of grace in these challenges.
