Important Update Regarding
Lake Magdalene UMC and COVID-19
Dear Lake Magdalene Family,

I’d like to take a few minutes of your time to update you on what’s happening at Lake Magdalene UMC as we navigate the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in this part of the world which we call home.

Upon recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Bishop Ken Carter, we will not be hosting services and weekly programming until March 31, 2020. Our motivation is grounded in the call of Jesus to love our neighbor (Matthew 22).

We encourage our entire church family to join us on our website , Facebook page , or on Youtube to view our video message from Pastor Brent and Pastor Steve this Sunday at 9:30 AM (Traditional Worship) and 11 AM (Genesis Contemporary Worship). We will include other elements of worship and our Student Ministries and Children’s Ministry will provide an online experience for your youth and children. We will share more details regarding the online service in the next day or two.

While the impacts of the coronavirus mean some changes to our daily lives, the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of people have not been put on hold and we must continue to care for those around us.

If you are in need of help during this time, please reach out to us in the following ways.

  • If you need someone to talk to during this challenging time, our Stephen Ministry is a great resource. Contact a Stephen Leader at [email protected]
  • Our offices will be open Monday - Thursday, 9 AM - 5 PM. If you are in need of help, contact our front office at (813) 961-1254.
  • If you are in need of our Food Pantry services, we will continue to have this ministry available Monday - Thursday, 10 AM - 4 PM. A photo ID is required.

Even though we’re not gathering in-person for church, you still have the opportunity to support God’s work through our church by financial giving. You can mail your offering or give online .

The Lord is my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)

Blessings,
Pastor Brent Byerman
Senior Pastor
